Time 36×36 inches

Oil on canvas
My work, “TIME,” is an abstract meditation on the enduring presence and inevitable decay of life and matter, sparked by observing the simplicity of a wooden sphere. That object, originating from a living tree, prompted a deep reflection on the relentless cycles inherent in wood: from the slow, deliberate accumulation of growth rings to the ultimate process of deterioration.

The composition captures a vortex of heightened energy and tension. Vibrant, dynamic brushstrokes of saffron yellow, fiery orange, and deep crimson swirl outward, representing the initial vitality, light, and the passage of active, living time.

However, the energy converges dramatically into the abyssal black core. This central void is not abstract; it is the physical manifestation of rot and dissolution. It symbolizes the point where time transitions from creation to consumption. “TIME” asks the viewer to contemplate how life’s greatest energy is inseparably linked to its inevitable decline, making the beauty of the present moment all the more intense and fragile.
