Peace at Last 36×60 inches

Oil on canvas
PEACE AT LAST” is an abstract landscape that attempts to capture a singular, powerful sensory memory from my trip to Tunisia. We had spent the entire day under the brutal sun, traversing the Sahara, and I felt utterly consumed by the heat. This painting marks the moment of pure, divine relief: boarding the ferry to Djerba at sunset. In the upper half rings of intense yellow and orange represent the trapped heat of the desert air. This fiery presence dominates the sky, conveying the suffocating memory of the day’s warmth that lingered right up until the last light. The lower portion defined by the sharp horizon is a dark soothing mass representing the sea, but more accurately , the sensation of the immediate thermal release- the rush of cool evening air hitting my skin.
