I am a painter who celebrates the beauty and experience of the natural world around me . Deriving inspiration from my various travels around the world, my depiction of the memories is both intense and dramatic. Using these travels as a starting point my work provides a seamless transition and transformation of reality to imagination and then abstraction. These inspirations are derived from the natural elements and the philosophical inclinations are then superimposed on renderings with a worldly backdrop. The natural elements provide the building blocks but are molded into and arranged according to my imagination.
Art and travel have been an integral part of me from the beginning. It took me from Pakistan to the US. Then came motherhood, and with it came travels and tennis. Pushing my son to be the best and the strongest version of himself through passion for sports made me realize that I should want that for myself too. How else do you lead by example?
I am a graduate of Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington D.C. I won an academic scholarship from the College and was named on the Dean’s List of Honor.
Throughout my art career, I have derived inspiration from my travel around our beautiful planet. Whether it is the color of the sky or its reflection on to the oceans, nature has motivated me to absorb, imagine and paint its divine beauty. The realism of its splendor belongs to nature but the perspective is all mine.
