During my visit to the city of Berlin I was inspired by its dynamic history and architectural renewal. Comparing the two of city’s most iconic and symbolically contrasting structures, the TV Tower and the Berlin Cathedral, this piece symbolizes the dynamic tension and historical contrast of the city. The red is raw and powerful suggesting the emotionally charged history from which the new city arises, which contrasts sharply with the blue which represents the new, sleek and forward looking future of Berlin.
